Ha Tinh farmers accelerate rice harvest following heavy rains
Farmers in Ha Tinh province are accelerating the summer-autumn rice harvest to mitigate the impact of recent heavy rainfall. While many areas have turned golden, significant portions of the crop have suffered from lodging and empty grains, leading to concerns regarding reduced yields and potential losses.
In response to the weather, local authorities and farmers are utilizing machinery and human resources to speed up the process during dry spells. Additionally, provincial officials have emphasized the need for vigilance regarding flood risks, landslide areas, and the management of reservoir water levels to prevent further damage.
Beyond agriculture, the province is implementing measures to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in an effort to address European Commission warnings.
