Ha Tinh National Highway 1 expansion proposed for 3,700 billion VND
The Vietnam Road Administration has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Construction to expand sections of National Highway 1 passing through Ha Tinh province. The project aims to widen over 45 kilometers of roadway to four lanes.
The proposed expansion includes a 16km stretch bypassing the former Ha Tinh City and a nearly 29km stretch bypassing the former Ky Anh Town. The main roadway will be approximately 20.5 meters wide, featuring four 3.5-meter lanes, a median strip, and safety lanes. The design follows standards for third-class plain roads with design speeds between 60-80 km/h.
The project includes the construction of 19 new bridge units and various intersections. The estimated total investment is over 3,700 billion VND, to be funded by the state budget through the 2026-2030 medium-term public investment plan. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with completion and operation targeted for 2030.
