As part of these infrastructure efforts, the Vietnam Road Administration has proposed an expansion of National Highway 1 through Ha Tinh. The project, estimated to cost over 3,700 billion VND, aims to widen 45 kilometers of roadway to four lanes, including bypasses for the former Ha Tinh City and Ky Anh Town. This expansion is intended to be funded through the 2026–2030 medium-term public investment plan, with construction slated to begin in 2027 and completion targeted for 2030.
