Haas F1 team struggles with car reliability at Austrian Grand Prix
Haas Formula 1 team acknowledged ongoing technical problems with its VF‑26 chassis during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend. Team principal Ayao Komatsu said the issues stem from under‑performing components that reduce down‑force and from manufacturing and assembly inaccuracies, which are amplified by the new generation's lower grip.
Driver Esteban Ocon confirmed the car’s problems, and teammate Oliver Bearman has faced similar setbacks. The United States‑based team failed to score World Championship points for the second race in a row, after also missing points in Barcelona. As a result, Haas has fallen from fourth place after the second race of the season to seventh in the standings, trailing the Racing Bulls by 23 points and Alpine by 36.
Komatsu stressed that the team must improve its processes quickly to regain competitiveness in the midfield, emphasizing the importance of precision in every detail of the car’s construction.
