Habitat for Humanity launches rebuilding initiative in Pacific Palisades

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has launched the ReBUILD LA initiative, a four-day community effort in Pacific Palisades to support wildfire survivors. The program mobilizes volunteers, construction professionals, and civic leaders to assist with home repairs, landscaping, and neighborhood revitalization.

Approximately 75% of survivors in the Pacific Palisades area remain displaced nearly 18 months after the January 2025 fires. Rebuilding efforts face significant financial hurdles, including rising construction costs and a massive gap between historical home values and current market prices. Erin Rank, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, noted that the organization is specifically targeting survivors facing funding gaps that make recovery difficult without external assistance.
