Hadramaut leaders hold security and political meetings
In Hadramaut, Yemen, local authorities and political leaders are taking steps to address regional stability and urban organization. In Mukalla, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Awad al-Jabri led a coordination meeting involving security, public works, and tax officials. The meeting focused on regulating qat markets to reduce traffic congestion, prevent haphazard street encroachments, and ensure tax collection follows legal frameworks.
Simultaneously, in Seiyun, a large-scale consultative meeting was held under the auspices of Hadramaut Governor Salim Ahmed al-Khanbashi. The gathering brought together approximately 1,500 tribal leaders and social figures from the Wadi and Desert regions. This meeting serves as a preparatory step for a general conference aimed at establishing a unified political and social representation for the province. Officials emphasized the need to move past tribalism and narrow partisan interests to prioritize the collective interests of Hadramaut.
