Hai Phong driver faces up to 40 million VND fine after fleeing crash

A 26‑year‑old driver of a Toyota Camry in Hai Phong city collided with a motorbike carrying a wife and two children, causing the family to be thrown onto the road. Instead of stopping to assist, the driver left the scene. Security‑camera footage captured the act, and the Hai Phong police identified the driver (license plate 15A‑556).

Under Vietnamese traffic law, the driver violated lane rules, attracting a fine of 20‑22 million VND, and also breached the requirement to remain at the accident scene, which carries a penalty of 16‑18 million VND and a 10‑point deduction from the driving licence. The combined possible penalty can reach up to 40 million VND.
