Hai Phong launches pedestrian street to boost night economy
Hai Phong has officially launched a new pedestrian street and night economy program centered around the City Opera House and the Central Flower Garden area. The initiative aims to establish a new nighttime destination in the city center.
The pedestrian zone spans from the intersection of Quang Trung and Me Linh streets to the intersection of Tran Hung Dao and the gas station area, connecting to the City Opera House Square and the Flagpole Yard. The space will feature approximately 25 to 30 stalls offering local cuisine, specialty products, and OCOP (One Commune, One Product) goods to connect local businesses and producers directly with tourists and consumers.
Scheduled to operate every Friday and Saturday night, the program integrates culinary experiences with street art, music, and community activities. The opening festivities included parades, professional art performances at the Opera House Square, and street performances along the Quang Trung and Tran Hung Dao routes.
