Hai Phong positioned as national economic growth engine

During a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s first visit to Hai Phong, central leadership emphasized the city's role as a primary economic driver for Vietnam. Trinh Van Quyet, a member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Central Committee, stated that the integration of Hai Phong and Hai Duong creates new development spaces by connecting maritime advantages, deltas, seaports, and industrial zones.

With three economic zones, a free trade zone, and 50 industrial parks, Hai Phong has been tasked with achieving an average annual growth rate of 13-14% for the 2026-2030 period. To reach these targets, officials noted the city must address bottlenecks such as slow site clearance, a shortage of high-quality human resources, and the need to increase the proportion of the digital economy and manufacturing.

Additionally, Quang Trung Primary School was honored with a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister during the event for its excellence in implementing educational and moral standards based on Ho Chi Minh's ideology.
