Hai Phong Social Insurance warns of phone and Zalo scams
The Hai Phong City Social Insurance Department issued a warning about fraudsters impersonating officials to steal assets via phone calls and Zalo messages. The scammers send unknown links and direct recipients to update personal data, claiming it is required for electronic identification.
On 10 June, a resident identified as H.T.N. received such a call, followed the instructions, but later recognized irregularities and visited the Social Insurance office. Staff confirmed they never requested data synchronization, text messages, or money transfers. The department urges citizens not to add unknown persons on Zalo, avoid clicking suspicious links, and never share OTPs, passwords, biometric data, facial images, or personal information. For help, people should use the official contact channels of the Hai Phong Social Insurance office.
