Haikyu!! franchise announces two new anime projects for 2027

New details have been released regarding the future of the Haikyu!! anime franchise, with two major projects scheduled for release in 2027.

The upcoming film, ‘Haikyu!! VS The Little Giant’, will follow the story after the Karasuno versus Nekoma match. It will focus on Karasuno’s confrontation with Kamomedai High School, specifically highlighting the rivalry between Shoyo Hinata and Korai Hoshiumi. A new concept visual has been unveiled featuring both characters at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

Additionally, a special anime titled ‘Haikyu!! Where Monsters Go’ is set for 2027. This project will focus on a different high-stakes match from the Spring Tournament: Fukurodani Academy versus Mujinazaka High School, featuring players Kotaro Bokuto and Wakatsu Kiryu. An action trailer and teaser visuals for this special have also been released.

Both projects are being produced by Production I.G. Furthermore, a collaboration between the anime and the SV. LEAGUE ALL STAR GAMES 2026-27 in Hokkaido has been announced for January 30, 2027, featuring voice actor Ayumu Murase.
