Haiphong Police warn of VNeID identity system phishing website

The Cyber Security Division of the Haiphong City Police has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent website impersonating the Ministry of Public Security’s VNeID electronic identification and authentication system. The fake website, located at bcavneid[. ]com, utilizes a logo, structure, and interface nearly identical to the official platform to deceive users.

Authorities state that users who log in to this site risk exposing personal identification data, family information, and financial account access. Criminals use domain names that mimic official abbreviations to build trust. Once victims enter their citizen identity card numbers, passwords, phone numbers, and OTP codes, attackers can seize control of digital identity accounts and access linked bank accounts or e-wallets to perform unauthorized transfers.

In some scenarios, the site may trick users into granting deep device access or downloading malicious configuration files, allowing malware to remotely control phones and automate financial transactions. Police advise citizens to only perform administrative procedures through official public service portals and to never provide personal information or OTP codes on unverified websites.
