Hair care experts emphasize proper product application and scalp-specific routines
Effective hair care depends on the correct application and sequencing of products rather than just the quality of cosmetics. Experts emphasize that shampoo should be chosen based on scalp type—such as oily, dry, or sensitive—to remove sebum and impurities without damaging the hair lengths.
Following shampoo, conditioners or balms are essential to smooth the hair fiber and prevent tangling. For more intensive treatment, hair masks can be used weekly to improve the appearance of damaged hair. However, improper application, such as applying conditioner to the roots or using masks on soaking wet hair, can diminish the effectiveness of a routine.
Dermatologist Benedikta Molnárová notes that there is no universal rule for how often to wash hair; frequency should be tailored to the individual's scalp type. Common issues like itching or irritation are often caused by aggressive cosmetics with harsh surfactants, excessively hot water, or vigorous scrubbing, rather than the frequency of washing itself.
