Haiti launches Industry Week 2026 to revitalize national production

Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have launched the first 'Semaine de l’Industrie 2026' (Industry Week 2026) in Pétion-Ville. The initiative aims to revitalize the nation's industrial sector to serve as a primary driver of economic development.

During the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Fils-Aimé emphasized the need to reduce dependence on imports by valuing local resources and creating stable jobs for the youth. He announced the upcoming implementation of a strategic industrial policy plan led by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to better structure industrial sectors.

Minister of Commerce and Industry James Monazard highlighted the importance of renewing the HOPE/HELP laws for industrial companies and workers. The event brings together government officials, entrepreneurs, investors, academics, and international partners to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors.
