Haiti national stabilization and economic recovery

Overview

Haiti has initiated several strategic programs aimed at national stabilization and economic revitalization.

In late September 2026, the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation began validating the National Program for Economic, Social, and Territorial Stabilization and Relaunch (PNSREST) for the 2026-2030 period. This framework, supported by the United Nations, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank, focuses on eight strategic pillars including governance, security, economic recovery, and essential infrastructure to restore institutional presence in crisis-affected areas.

Following this, the government launched ‘Semaine de l’Industrie 2026’ (Industry Week 2026) to revitalize the industrial sector. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry emphasized reducing import dependency by valuing local resources and creating jobs. This initiative includes the development of a strategic industrial policy plan and discussions regarding the renewal of HOPE/HELP laws to support industrial companies and workers.
