Haiti Ministry of Economy and Finance swears in new public accountants

New public accountants assistant from Haiti’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) have officially begun their duties following a swearing-in ceremony conducted by the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSCCA). The ceremony, held in Pétion-Ville, required the new agents to commit to the faithful management and control of public financial operations.

During the proceedings, CSCCA officials emphasized the necessity of adhering to public accounting standards and legal regulations for all expenditures. Officials called for integrity, competence, and rigor in the exercise of their new responsibilities.

In a related effort to ensure transparency and prevent corruption, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) organized a session to assist new accountants with their legal obligation to declare their assets. This initiative, requested by the MEF’s Directorate General of the Treasury and Public Accounting, included information sessions on the 2008 law regarding asset declarations and provided personalized assistance for the authentication of these declarations.
