Haiti public accounting and anti-corruption measures
Overview
Following a swearing-in ceremony conducted by the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSCCA) in Pétion-Ville, new assistant public accountants from Haiti’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) have officially commenced their duties. The ceremony required the new agents to commit to the faithful management and control of public financial operations.
To support transparency and prevent corruption, the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) organized sessions to assist these new accountants with their legal obligation to declare their assets. These sessions, requested by the MEF’s Directorate General of the Treasury and Public Accounting, provided information on the 2008 law regarding asset declarations and assistance with the authentication of those declarations.
