Haiti PM Alix Didier Fils-Aimé advances security and port reforms

On 31 July, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils‑Aimé visited the National Port Authority (APN) in the northern department, reiterating the government's commitment to modernise port infrastructure, improve efficiency, transparency and public service delivery. He gave clear instructions for the APN to fully assume its role in the country's economic development.

On 5 August, the prime minister chaired a high‑level security meeting in Port‑au‑Prince after meeting U.S. chargé d’affaires David Howell. The gathering, attended by the National Police, the Haitian Armed Forces, the anti‑gang force and international partners, reviewed the security situation, coordinated operations against armed groups and stressed that restoring state authority is essential for stability, economic recovery and credible elections. The prime minister welcomed international support while emphasizing respect for Haiti’s sovereignty.
