Haiti: SOLÈY platform raises concerns over electoral process

The political group SOLÈY, led by Etzer Émile, has expressed serious concerns regarding the management of the electoral process in Haiti. In a statement released on October 15, 2026, the platform criticized the government and the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) for perceived indecision and a lack of transparency.

SOLÈY specifically opposes recent amendments to the electoral decree, arguing that these changes may serve private interests and facilitate the participation of controversial figures, including those subject to international sanctions. The group warns that such modifications could undermine national governance and increase the risk of institutional crises, diplomatic isolation, and reduced financial cooperation.

To ensure credible and inclusive elections, the platform is calling for a realistic electoral calendar, a revision of the decree, and urgent measures to restore security across the national territory. They demand verifiable guarantees of independence and impartiality from both the government and the CEP to rebuild public trust.
