Haitian political groups address electoral irregularities and new platforms

Political activity in Haiti is intensifying as various groups address the country's institutional crisis and upcoming electoral processes.

Andy Marcellus of COPPOS-Haïti has raised concerns regarding serious irregularities in the voter registration process. He reported that members of his organization discovered their information was already listed in the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) database as members of other political groups. Marcellus called for transparency and corrections to ensure the credibility of future elections.

In Pétion-Ville, the REKONSILYE party officially unveiled its political platform, emphasizing national reconciliation, security, and justice. Party president Jean Junior Jiha criticized the current state of the nation, citing violence and impunity, and advocated for a new approach based on collective responsibility and youth engagement.

Meanwhile, Camille Leblanc, coordinator of the VIKTWA political grouping, defended the alliance against allegations of being too close to the current government. Leblanc stated that the coalition was formed to pool resources and share a common vision for addressing the national crisis, specifically focusing on providing opportunities for Haitian youth.
