Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé receives credentials from Swiss and Romanian ambassadors

Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé received the letters of credence from the ambassadors of Switzerland and Romania on October 29, 2026.

During discussions with Swiss Ambassador Pascal Bornoz, the Prime Minister addressed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and the upcoming Haitian electoral process. Fils-Aimé reaffirmed his government's commitment to establishing the necessary conditions for elections in accordance with the Provisional Electoral Council's schedule.

In meetings with Romanian Ambassador Theodora-Magdalena Mircea, officials discussed bilateral relations with a focus on education and electoral preparations. A protocol of agreement was signed to facilitate the future opening of a Romanian honorary consulate in Haiti. The Romanian ambassador expressed support for the publication of the electoral calendar.
