Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council prepares diaspora pilot vote
The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of Haiti is advancing preparations for a pilot program to allow the Haitian diaspora to vote in upcoming elections. A delegation led by CEP Vice-President Jaccéus Joseph is currently in France to consult with French authorities and Haitian diaspora organizations. The mission aims to determine the logistical and technical requirements necessary to organize voting operations for Haitians living in France.
In Pétion-Ville, Haitian Foreign Minister Raina Forbin met with the CEP to discuss the implementation of this pilot initiative. The discussions focused on coordinating with foreign authorities and following up on previous exploratory missions conducted in Chile and Brazil. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is supporting the process to ensure organized participation, the CEP has not yet released specific details regarding the number of voters involved, the exact locations of polling stations, or the final voting mechanisms.
