Hakkari leaders meet with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli

Leaders and business figures from Hakkari and Yüksekova, including Orhan Piruzbeyoğlu of the Pinyaniş tribe, Ali İhsan Zeydan, and Teoman Zeydan, met with Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in Ankara.

The discussions focused on the peace process and the importance of the “National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy” framework recently accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The visitors emphasized that establishing peace and tranquility in the region is vital for the future of Hakkari and will facilitate economic development and investment.

Following the meeting, a controversy arose regarding a Kurdish-language statement made by Piruzbeyoğlu. After claims circulated on social media regarding specific phrasing used by Bahçeli, Piruzbeyoğlu issued a clarification in Turkish. He stated that translation errors had caused misunderstandings and clarified that Bahçeli’s vision of a “Terror-free Turkey” is part of a broader “Terror-free Region” perspective that includes Iraq, Syria, and Iran.
