Hakkari tender fraud investigation leads to seven arrests
An investigation by the Hakkari Provincial Police Department has uncovered irregularities in the procurement of goods and services from food sector companies by public institutions. According to the Hakkari Governor's Office, the investigation, coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, identified instances of tender fraud, the falsification of official documents, and unauthorized corrections to records.
Authorities also determined that contractor firms had their progress payments artificially increased, leading to higher-than-actual payments from the public budget. As a result of the investigation, eight suspects, including one public official, were detained. Following their referral to judicial authorities, seven suspects were arrested, while one was released.
In connection with the case, a court has ordered the seizure of bank accounts belonging to both the suspects and the companies involved in the investigation.
