Walibi Holland: Riot and police intervention during Halloween event

Significant unrest broke out at the Walibi Holland theme park in Biddinghuizen during its Halloween Fright Nights event on Saturday night. Following multiple brawls between groups of visitors, the park was forced to prematurely close its scare zones at 10:00 PM to protect actors and ensure safety.

The situation escalated to the point where the Mobile Unit (ME) of the police was deployed, with officers using batons and dogs to restore order and escort people from the park. Eyewitnesses reported that the atmosphere became increasingly grim, with some reports of looting and vandalism at park shops and catering facilities.

Approximately 20,000 visitors were present at the sold-out event. A park spokesperson noted that a group of visitors appeared to be intentionally causing unrest, following online rumors of so-called ‘Fight Nights’ scheduled for the weekend. This follows similar incidents of violence at the park during the previous year's Halloween celebrations.
