Halloween-themed parkrun events held in Żywiec and Świnoujście
Two Halloween-themed parkrun events took place in Poland on Saturday, October 31.
In Żywiec, the 21st edition of the parkrun at Castle Park saw nearly 50 participants running, jogging, or walking a five-kilometer route. Organized by the RUNŻ Association, the event featured costumes and decorations. While the event drew some criticism from certain groups, organizers stated that the Halloween theme is not a religious or ideological declaration, emphasizing that community sports can bring people together regardless of differing beliefs.
In Świnoujście, the 471st parkrun at Park Zdrojowy attracted 62 participants and 23 volunteers. The event featured various costumes, including witches and ghosts. Szymon Aperliński finished first with a time of 21:10, setting a personal record, followed by Michał Bajek and Tomasz Zacharzewski. Monika Grabarczyk was the fastest female participant with a time of 23:17.
