Halloween-themed Parkrun events in Poland
Overview
Several Halloween-themed Parkrun events were held across various Polish cities on October 31.
In Toruń, approximately 399 participants took part in a five-kilometer course for runners and walkers, with many wearing costumes such as witches, devils, and ghosts. Co-organizer Mariusz Śliwiński noted the event serves as an opportunity for community movement and themed fun.
In Żywiec, nearly 50 participants attended the 21st edition of the event at Castle Park. While the theme drew criticism from certain groups, organizers stated that the Halloween theme is not a religious or ideological declaration and emphasized that community sports can bring people together regardless of differing beliefs.
In Świnoujście, the 471st Parkrun at Park Zdrojowy attracted 62 participants and 23 volunteers. Participants wore various costumes, and the event saw several personal records, including a first-place finish by Szymon Aperliński with a time of 21:10.
