Halo Studios faces closure following final content updates
Halo Studios is reportedly entering its final stages of operation. A small remaining team of approximately 30 developers, led by studio head Pierre Hintze, is currently working on a final major content update for ‘Halo: Campaign Evolved’. This update is expected to include a Theater mode and the ‘Firefight’ horde mode. The team is also preparing for the Halo Fest event in December.
Reports indicate that once this update and the December event are completed, the studio will close. This remaining team operates independently of Activision, which has taken charge of the Halo franchise.
Despite the studio's impending closure, several planned Halo literary projects remain on schedule. Books such as ‘Halo: Parasite’s Wake’ and ‘Halo: The Master Chief Omnibus’ are currently in the printing process and expected by the end of the year. Other upcoming titles, including ‘Halo: Fireteam Noble’ and a new short book titled ‘Halo: Burn the Road Home’ by Kenneth Peters, are also slated for release in the coming years.
