HAMA receives new media monitoring equipment in Chad

The Haute Autorité des Médias et de l’Audiovisuel (HAMA) has received a significant donation of equipment to modernize its media monitoring unit. This support is provided through the Support Project for Parliament and Electoral Processes (PAPPE), which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES).

The new equipment is intended to help HAMA regulate an evolving media landscape that includes traditional outlets, news sites, web radios, and social networks. The donation includes 52 computers with professional software, specialized equipment for capturing and tracking radio and audiovisual content, and IT infrastructure such as servers and data storage systems.

To ensure connectivity and operational continuity, the package also includes six Starlink systems and power backup solutions, including large-capacity batteries and inverters to mitigate electricity outages.
