Hamas finance chief Muhammad Abu Alwan killed in Israeli strike
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) killed Muhammad Abu Alwan, the head of Hamas's finance department. The targeted operation took place in Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip.
The strike involved an aerial attack on a vehicle traveling on Al Rashid Street in the Al-Mawasi area. Local medical sources reported that the explosion killed at least two people and injured several others. The operation is part of a broader Israeli strategy to dismantle the financial and administrative infrastructure of Hamas.
Israeli leadership stated that they will continue to target Hamas's funding sources and military commanders until the group no longer exists in the enclave. Hamas has not yet issued an official statement confirming or denying the death of Abu Alwan.
