Hamas says Gaza government committee resigns and condemns Israel’s ongoing attacks
Hamas spokesperson Hazim Kasım announced that the Gaza Government Working Committee has resigned, retaining only technical and administrative duties. He stated the move was meant to eliminate any pretext for Israel’s actions and to support national interests, while noting that the newly formed Gaza National Administration Committee, established under a UN Security Council resolution and a U.S. plan, has been blocked from operating by Israel.
Kasım also accused Israel of trying to justify its continued strikes by claiming Hamas is rapidly building military capacity. He highlighted that, despite the cease‑fire that began on 10 October 2025, Israel has kept attacking Gaza, resulting in 1,066 Palestinian deaths and 3,445 injuries since the cease‑fire, and a total of 73,090 deaths and 173,553 injuries since October 2023.
