Han Dong-hoon and Kim Eo-jun clash over Roh Moo-hyun allegations

A political dispute has intensified between independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon and broadcaster Kim Eo-jun regarding the legacy of former President Roh Moo-hyun. The conflict erupted after Han raised questions concerning allegations of financial impropriety involving the former president's family, specifically mentioning a Piaget watch and funds related to former Taekwang Industries chairman Park Yeon-cha.

During a YouTube broadcast, Kim Eo-jun criticized Han, suggesting that Han was using the former president as a political tool to provoke the progressive camp and elevate his own profile. Kim remarked that Han was “daring to mention Roh Moo-hyun” to strike a sensitive political nerve. Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Kun-young added that Han’s actions appeared to be a strategic attempt to lay the groundwork for the “revival of the prosecution.”

In response, Han Dong-hoon issued a statement via Facebook, rejecting Kim’s remarks as “arrogant” and demanding that the broadcaster “speak with facts.” Han argued that the Democratic Party has created a “false myth” around the former president to shield him from scrutiny and has used this narrative to justify the abolition of the prosecution system. He challenged his critics to address the specific allegations regarding the receipt of funds rather than relying on emotional rhetoric.
