Kaohsiung mayoral race: Lai Rui-long leads Ke Chih-en in latest polls
Recent polling for the Kaohsiung mayoral election shows Democratic Progressive Party candidate Lai Rui-long holding a lead over Kuomintang candidate Ke Chih-en. According to United Daily News data, Lai holds 40% support compared to Ke's 33%, while Lai maintains a significant advantage in perceived chances of winning (49% to 21%).
Despite the lead, the race remains competitive. Undecided voters account for 26% of the electorate, a group that could determine the final outcome. Demographic analysis indicates Ke performs better among male voters and supporters of the Taiwan People Party, while Lai leads among female voters and older age groups.
Political figures have actively engaged in campaign activities. Kuomintang's Han Kuo-yu recently appeared at a campaign event for Ke Chih-en, alongside Ko Wen-je, to endorse her candidacy and criticize the current administration's performance. Meanwhile, other local political figures continue to mobilize support for various regional candidates.
