Han Pijesak to host gathering of Republika Srpska veterans

Radan Ostojić, the Minister of Labor and Disabled Veterans Affairs of Republika Srpska, has announced a large gathering of demobilized fighters, war invalids, and families of fallen soldiers to take place in Han Pijesak on Sunday, August 30. The event, intended to express gratitude to those who fought for the creation of Republika Srpska, is framed by officials as a symbol of Serbian unity that transcends political affiliations.

During the event at the Komnica excursion site, organizers also plan to lay the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the ‘Jela’ motel. Once renovated, the site is intended to serve as a museum or memorial room for the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS).

Despite official claims that all former participants are invited regardless of political stance, reports suggest potential exclusion. Nedeljko Klincov, president of the ‘Veterans of the Homeland War’ association in Gradiška, stated he received no invitation and was unaware of the planned assembly.
