Handball H-League prepares for new season with draft and media day

The Korea Handball Federation is accelerating preparations for the 25-26 Handball H-League through a rookie draft and media day held at the Mayfield Hotel in Seoul. The upcoming season features significant changes, including the expansion of the women's division to nine teams with the addition of the new Chungcheongnam-do Development Corporation club.

In the women's division, a new split-round format will be introduced after the second round, dividing teams into upper and lower groups to determine playoff eligibility. Coaches have emphasized speed and mobility as key strategies for the new season. Notable players from the recent Asian Games gold medal team are expected to compete against one another in the domestic league.

The men's division will begin its six-month season on December 6 at the Incheon Seonhak Gymnasium, featuring a match between Incheon Urban Corporation and SK Hawks. The H-League season is scheduled to run from December 6 through May 9, with all matches broadcast live on MAXPORTS.
