South Korea Handball H-League season preparations

Overview

The Korea Handball Federation has announced the schedule and structural changes for the upcoming Shinhan Super SOL 2026-2027 Handball H-League. The season is set to run for six months, from December 6, 2026, to May 9, 2027.

The men’s division will commence on December 6 at the Incheon Seonhak Gymnasium with a match between defending champions Incheon City Corporation and runners-up SK Hawks. The women’s division is scheduled to begin later, on January 8, following the Asian Championships in Kazakhstan.

Significant updates for the new season include the expansion of the women’s division to nine teams with the addition of the Chungnam Development Corporation. To increase competitiveness, the women’s league will implement a new split system after two rounds, dividing teams into upper and lower groups to determine post-season eligibility. Preparations for the league have included a rookie draft and a media day held in Seoul.
