Handwerkskammer Dortmund launches craft competition for daycare centers

The Handwerkskammer Dortmund is organizing the “Kleine Hände, große Zukunft” (Small Hands, Big Future) competition for the 2026/2027 period. The initiative encourages daycare centers (Kitas) to visit local craft businesses, such as bakeries, workshops, or construction sites, to allow children to observe professionals and participate in hands-on activities.

Following these visits, children and educators will create large posters documenting their experiences. An expert jury will evaluate the entries, with winning daycare centers receiving 500 euros to fund a festival or a dedicated project day. The deadline for poster submissions is March 12, 2027.
