Handwerkskammer Potsdam launches 14th Kita craft competition
The 14th round of the nationwide daycare center competition, ‘Kleine Hände, große Zukunft’ (Small Hands, Big Future), has commenced. Organized by Aktion Modernes Handwerk e. V. (AMH), the initiative invites daycare centers and craft businesses to collaborate to introduce children to various manual trades.
Participants engage in hands-on experiences at local craft businesses, where children can try out different tasks. Following these visits, children and educators create posters documenting their impressions. Entries must be submitted by March 12, 2027, to be evaluated by a jury of craft and early childhood education experts.
Winning daycare centers will receive 500 euros to fund projects or celebrations. A new feature this year is the ‘Kita-Handwerks-Pass’, a commemorative pass provided to every participating child.
