Haneda Airport baggage check-in deadline moved to 30 minutes before departure

Seven domestic airlines, including Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA), have implemented a new baggage check-in deadline at Haneda Airport starting September 1. The deadline for checked luggage has been moved forward from 20 minutes before departure to 30 minutes before departure.

This change aims to improve on-time performance rates for domestic flights, which have seen a decline in departures occurring within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Airlines are also urging passengers to strictly adhere to boarding deadlines, as missing these cut-offs prevents boarding.

Additionally, the North Satellite in Terminal 1 began operations on the same day. Japan Airlines has issued a warning regarding unstable signal conditions at the new satellite, noting that passengers may experience delays when attempting to display 2D boarding barcodes on smartphones.
