Hanfa warns of fraudulent website impersonating Croatian National Bank
The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent website, frozenspirety.info, which impersonates the official gov.hr portal and the Croatian National Bank (HNB).
The scam site promotes a fake “National Financial Access Program (NPFP),” falsely presented as a state initiative backed by a “national guarantee fund” of two billion euros. The website encourages citizens to apply for the program with a minimum initial deposit of 250 euros, claiming that applications are limited to 500 per county.
Hanfa advises the public that a website's visual identity, including logos and colors, can be convincingly mimicked to appear legitimate. Citizens are urged to verify the domain name, noting that official institutions use specific domains such as hnb.hr, gov.hr, and hanfa.hr.
