Financial fraud targeting Croatian institutions
Overview
The Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa) issued a warning regarding a fraudulent website, frozenspirety.info, which impersonates the official gov.hr portal and the Croatian National Bank (HNB).
The scam site falsely promotes a “National Financial Access Program (NPFP),” claiming it is a state initiative supported by a “national guarantee fund” of two billion euros. The website attempts to solicit minimum initial deposits of 250 euros from citizens by claiming applications are limited per county. Hanfa has advised the public to verify domain names, noting that official institutions use specific domains such as hnb.hr, gov.hr, and hanfa.hr.
