Hanoi accelerates completion of Vành đai 1 and Vành đai 2.5 ring roads
The 2.2‑km segment of Vành đai 1 between Hoàng Cầu and Voi Phục in Hanoi, with a total investment of nearly VND 7.8 trillion, is being fast‑tracked to open before the September 2 national holiday. Contractors are simultaneously laying pavement, installing lighting, planting trees and completing sidewalks, while a parallel overpass at Láng Hạ is also being rushed.
On the Vành đai 2.5 corridor, the stretch from Nguyễn Trãi to Hồ Đầm Hồng, costing over VND 2.4 trillion, has cleared land‑acquisition hurdles and is seeing a surge of excavators, trucks and specialized equipment. The project targets a October 10, 2026 opening, aiming to ease traffic congestion, shorten travel times and improve connectivity in south‑west Hanoi.
