Hanoi adjusts Nghi Tam traffic for Tu Lien Bridge construction

The Hanoi Department of Construction has announced new traffic management measures for Nghi Tam Road and surrounding areas, effective August 20, 2026. These adjustments are necessary to facilitate the construction of the Tu Lien Bridge and its connecting approach roads, spanning from the Nghi Tam intersection to the Truong Sa intersection.

Under the new plan, vehicles on Nghi Tam Road traveling toward Au Co Road and Nhat Tan Bridge—excluding trucks and buses with more than 16 seats—must turn right at the entrance of alley 276 Nghi Tam. From there, they will use a new 6-meter-wide temporary road to merge into Au Co Road. To prevent congestion and traffic conflicts, this temporary route will operate as a one-way street, and all opposing traffic is strictly prohibited. Additionally, no stopping or parking is allowed on this temporary route.

Local authorities, including the Hanoi Traffic Police and the People's Committees of Tay Ho and Hong Ha wards, will coordinate to guide vehicles, manage intersections, and prevent sidewalk encroachments. The Hanoi Traffic Construction Project Management Board is tasked with monitoring the situation to propose adjustments if bottlenecks occur.
