Vietnam authorities investigate multiple cases of child abuse and exploitation

Authorities in Vietnam are investigating several separate incidents involving the abuse and exploitation of minors.

In Hanoi, the Thanh Liet Ward People's Committee and local police are investigating a preschool teacher at the ‘Bay Cao Uoc Mo’ facility. Following reports and video footage, officials confirmed that a teacher, Phan Thi Thanh B., moved a 22-month-old child to a camera blind spot to strike the child in the face and legs. Medical examinations revealed minor bruising to the child's gums, but the child's health is currently stable.

In Ho Chi Minh City, police have arrested five individuals for allegedly grooming a 14-year-old girl via Facebook. The group reportedly used gifts and emotional manipulation to lure the victim to motels and rental rooms to commit sexual acts.

In Hung Yen, a first-year university student, Nguyen Trong Khanh, has been detained for the alleged rape of a child born in 2014 whom he met through social media.

Additionally, in An Giang, police apprehended Pham Van Tam after a four-year manhunt. Tam is accused of sexually abusing his own biological daughter on multiple occasions in 2021.
