Hanoi braces for an intense heat wave starting this weekend

Forecast models indicate that northern Vietnam, including the capital Hanoi, will enter a widespread heat wave from June 20. The period is expected to last six to seven days, with the hottest days projected for June 22‑25. Some models suggest actual temperatures could reach 40‑41 °C, while current felt temperatures are already 39‑41 °C.

Authorities advise residents to avoid outdoor activities between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., stay well‑hydrated, and monitor updates to adjust daily plans, especially if conditions become more severe than anticipated.
