Hanoi is managing the aftermath of heavy rainfall that caused widespread flooding and high river levels. While most urban flooded areas began draining by September 18, several rivers remain at critical levels. The Tich River has exceeded Alarm Level 3, and the Bich River has surpassed Alarm Level 3 by 0.45m.

To manage the situation, the Hanoi Technical Infrastructure Management Center has deployed over 2,500 workers and 200 pieces of equipment to facilitate drainage. Pumping stations, including Yen So and Co Nhue, are operating to manage water levels. In rural areas like Kieu Phu, residents and officials are working to protect approximately 15 tons of fish from rising waters.

Medical experts, including Dr. Nguyen Quoc Phuong from the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases, have issued warnings regarding infectious diseases. Flooding and contact with contaminated mud and water increase the risk of Leptospira and Whitmore (melioidosis) infections. Residents are advised to wear protective gear like boots and gloves when handling floodwater or mud.
