Hanoi consults residents on Red River urban planning
Hanoi is conducting public consultations regarding the overall adjustment of the Red River urban subdivision planning (1/5,000 scale) and the proposed route for the Red River Landscape Boulevard (1/500 scale).
In Bat Trang commune, the proposed landscape boulevard route received a 95% approval rate, with 1,413 out of 1,486 residents expressing agreement. Regarding the broader urban subdivision planning adjustment, 69.2% of respondents agreed, while others suggested modifications or expressed disagreement.
Residents in areas such as the Dam Trau urban area have expressed support for the development of the riverfront space but have raised concerns regarding livelihoods and residential stability. Key requests from the community include clarity on resettlement plans for established residential areas, ensuring the protection of existing infrastructure, and assessing the impact of development on flood control and dike safety.
