Hanoi and Da Nang authorities crack down on traffic violations

Traffic police in Hanoi and Da Nang have intensified enforcement against various road safety violations. In Hanoi, an AI camera system recorded 18,512 traffic violations during September, with over 16,500 involving motorcycles. Notable repeat offenders were identified, including one motorcycle recorded violating traffic laws 43 times since the beginning of the year. Common infractions detected by the AI system include running red lights, driving in the wrong lane, riding against traffic, and failing to wear helmets.

In Da Nang, authorities issued a fine and deducted driver's license points from a pickup truck driver after a video surfaced on social media showing the vehicle equipped with unauthorized flashing lights on its roof. The lights were reported to cause significant glare for other motorists, creating safety hazards. The driver was ordered to remove the unauthorized equipment and restore the vehicle to its original state.
