Hanoi forum addresses student mental health and digital safety
The 'Dieu Em Muon Noi 2026' forum, themed 'Digital Vaccine for Children,' was held on August 17 at Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School in Hanoi. The event aimed to facilitate discussions between students, parents, schools, and experts regarding school mental health and the risks children face in digital spaces.
Organized under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the forum featured participants including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training and various psychological and cybersecurity experts. Over 1,500 students from Nguyen Sieu School attended, alongside nearly 100 educators and school counselors.
During the event, Miss Vietnam 2024 runner-up Nguyen Thi Van Nhi and Tourism and Environment Ambassador Pham Thuy Duong shared insights on the pressures of social media, such as public opinion and peer comparison. The forum addressed the urgent need for digital literacy and psychological support, noting that the Ministry of Education and Training estimates approximately 21.7% of children and adolescents face mental health issues during the 2025-2026 school year.
