Vietnam advances major urban infrastructure and administrative reforms
Vietnam is undergoing significant infrastructure and administrative shifts across several major cities. In Ho Chi Minh City, authorities are focusing on integrated infrastructure development, including a goal to develop 255 km of metro lines by 2030 and implementing new regulations for underground space planning to support urban growth.
Hanoi is implementing administrative reforms by merging the Department of Planning and Architecture into the Department of Construction to streamline management. However, the capital also faces challenges with several large-scale transportation projects experiencing delays.
In other regions, new high-speed lane regulations have been introduced on the Cau Gie - Cao Bo expressway, and authorities are mandating the installation of safety distance signage on seven major expressways. Additionally, Bac Ninh is pushing to resolve delays in 14 urban area projects worth over 200 trillion VND.
